Snow there!

Well, we've had a lot of snow, but the milder weather (and rain) has made short work of the snow.

Last night we watched the snow on the side deck railing gradually become a twisted and curling ribbon and finally it just collapsed.

Next door the roof snow was sliding slowly down their steel roof and it hung precariously till after we had gone to bed. This morning half of it was in the front yard. Tonight you can actually see grass and I imagine this continuing trend will take us back to square one.

Kincardine on the other hand (Jeff had to go there today) had twice the snow as we did, so they still have a couple of feet on the ground. Well, that was this afternoon. Who knows what will be left by morning.

I finished my Lindenhoff scarf. My little tribute to a marvellous family mill that has closed down. I will miss it and the ambiance of visiting a working mill and buying wool fresh from the dye vat.

I begin today my little triangle hat. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

The Green Party of Ontario here in Owen Sound voted me as co-President. Joachim Oostertag is my side kick in that position. Two rookies! Argh! I guess we'll learn a lot together.

So I'm off to knit and finish my wine by the fire. Can't get much better than that.

Congrats on becoming the co-president, Susanna! We're expecting great things from you BG-OS people in the 2011 election, ie. the first Green MPP!
